Seemingly, the troubleshooter simply has no idea that i have a wireless network adapter installed. Clicking on network troubleshooter only prompts for me to plug in a network cable and find no other items to suggest a fix. Even toggling airplane mode on and off does not fix it. When i click on the network symbol, it will simply show the toggle for Airplane Mode (which will be off), and no available wireless networks.
Randomly, but sometimes not for days at a time, my MSI gamaing laptop will wake from sleep, screensaver, or hibernation and instead of instantly reconnecting to my secure home wifi network, it will only show a red X over the wifi symbol in the system tray.
